LEVINSON, Justice.

This case raises questions concerning the validity of a search warrant issued solely on the basis of an informer's tip, the manner in which that warrant was executed by the police, and whether the circumstances of the defendant's trial required the prosecution to disclose a confidential informer's identity in order to assist the defendant in establishing his innocence.
