PER CURIAM:

This application for a writ in the nature of a writ of mandamus seeks to compel the respondent judge to afford petitioner a preliminary hearing respecting a misdemeanor charge lodged against him by way of complaint. The prosecution has undertaken the relatively unique tack of charging the defendant by way of complaint rather than by filing an information. Apparently the purpose for such a procedure is to permit joinder of petitioner on the misdemeanor...
