Defendants Ferguson and Simmons were arrested at approximately midnight April 4, 1971, by the Michigan State Police inside a supermarket in Brighton. Investigating officers found several holes drilled into the safe, beside which defendants were crouched. In a shopping basket next to the safe were found two sticks of dynamite, a length of fuse, and blasting caps. Other tools were found strewn in the area...
