In the early morning hours of October 27, 1970, a young lady was walking on a well-defined but unimproved walkway adjacent to the easterly side of Route 119 and alongside of the defendant Walworth Company plant. She was proceeding north and had walked the full length of the building when she came to an abutment of a bridge which had been erected by the Pennsylvania Department of Highways across a stream.
