The appellant William Gus Rector was convicted after jury trial under five counts1 of a five-count indictment charging him with violation of the Internal Revenue Code with respect to non-tax paid distilled spirits, or "moonshine whisky", in April and May, 1972, in Choctaw County, Mississippi.
