Richard White was convicted of the offense of possession of heroin and sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment with the condition that he serve ten years before being eligible for parole.1 White was granted a three-hour delay to arrange his personal affairs, at the end of which time he was to report to the Anchorage State Jail to commence the service of his sentence.
