A bizarre accident on the navigable waters of the Saugatuck River in Connecticut resulting in the death of one Aldo Santini triggered this complex limitation proceeding in admiralty.

In the late afternoon of July 26, 1964, Howard Klarman, owner of the 28-foot auxiliary sloop Fling, and several guests —his brother-in-law, two of his sons and two of their young friends—boarded the Fling at the Saugatuck...
