This is an appeal from a conviction for refusing to submit to induction, 50 U.S.C. App. § 462(a). On March 17, 1970 appellant was classified 1-A; he requested neither a personal appearance nor an appeal of this classification. On April 20, 1970 the local board ordered him to report for a physical examination. The notice included the statement: "If you have any physical or mental condition which, in your opinion, may disqualify you for service...
