On August 6, 1968 the State Department of Highways (under the "Quick Taking Statute", LSA-R.S. 48:441 et seq.) expropriated 18.604 acres from the approximate center of defendant Beauregard Development Co., Inc.'s 223.6 acre tract. The taking was for a limited access four lane divided highway built to interstate standards.
