WEATHERBEE, Justice.

In the late evening of October 4, 1971, a young lady who was walking on Park Street toward York Street in Portland was attacked by a male assailant. In the ensuing struggle the assailant produced a knife and the lady suffered a chest wound and a cut finger. While she was struggling with this assailant another male individual, an accomplice, made off with her purse. Subsequently, she identified the Defendant...
