In 1942 W. L. Moody, Jr. and his wife, Libby Shearn Moody, executed an instrument by which was established The Moody Foundation. The Moody Foundation as so established exists in perpetuity as a charitable trust for the furtherance of "religious, charitable, scientific and educational uses" within the State of Texas.
