Plaintiff, Karen Ghostley, who had been a student at the Institute of Medical Technique, owned and operated by defendant, Edwin Hetland, initiated an action to recover damages from defendant based upon allegations that she had been induced to enroll as a student by the misrepresentation of defendant as to the quality and value of the education, one element of the alleged damages being the $1,650 she paid to defendant for tuition and incidental fees.
