The petitioner, Carl Goodwin Williams, is presently incarcerated in the Nebraska Penal and Correctional Complex. He is serving a sentence of life imprisonment imposed by the District Court of Adams County, Nebraska, after a jury found Williams guilty of the crime of first degree murder.
