Lawrence E. Johnson was charged with the crime of simple kidnapping in violation of R.S. 14:45. On September 22, 1969 he appeared for arraignment accompanied by his attorney. At that time counsel waived the reading of the bill of information and entered a plea of "Not Guilty." On April 30, 1970, following several continuances, he again appeared with his counsel and, with permission of the court, withdrew his former plea of "Not Guilty", substituting...
