MASON, Justice.

A Jasper County grand jury returned an indictment charging Jerry Lee Hackett with the crime of sodomy contrary to section 705.1, The Code. Before arraignment, counsel was appointed for Hackett. Following defendant's plea of not guilty, trial to a jury was commenced. Motion for directed verdict made at the close of the State's evidence and renewed at the close of all evidence was overruled and the matter submitted to the jury which returned a verdict...
