In this diversity action plaintiff obtained a $20,000 jury verdict for personal injuries sustained in a slip-and-fall accident which occurred in defendant's department store in Columbia, South Carolina. On appeal defendant urges as grounds for reversal that there was insufficient evidence of negligence to be submitted to the jury and that in any event plaintiff was guilty of contributory negligence as a matter of law.
