The Department of Corrections dismissed appellant Martin from his civil service position as a correctional officer at San Quentin Prison on July 24, 1970. After an administrative hearing, the State Personnel Board upheld the dismissal. Martin then filed in the Sacramento Superior Court a petition for a writ of mandate to compel his reinstatement with back pay. He appeals...
