Trooper Wilson of the Vermont State Police observed a motor vehicle operated by the defendant on Route 14, a public highway in the Town of Barre, on January 25, 1972, in a weaving manner. The officer stopped the truck operated by the defendant. He observed a strong smell of alcoholic beverage on defendant's breath and that his eyes were red.
