Mr. JUSTICE DRUCKER delivered the opinion of the court:

Defendant appeals from a judgment of divorce entered in favor of plaintiff. The court found that the defendant was guilty of extreme and repeated acts of mental cruelty which were unprovoked by the plaintiff. The proceedings below took place in two "phases." The "first phase" concerned the issue of the parties' marital status, that is, whether plaintiff should be granted a divorce....
