KERRIGAN, J.

Convicted by a jury of conspiracy to murder Warren Hudson (Pen. Code, § 182, subd. 1), the defendant, Gerald George Lawrence, Jr., waived a jury trial on the penalty issue and was sentenced to life imprisonment.1
