This action was commenced in the Chittenden County Court of Chancery on April 1, 1970, after the plaintiffs, Richard Villeneuve and Ardelle Villeneuve, received notices their taxes assessed by the defendant, Town of Underhill, for the years 1968 and 1969 remained unpaid, and that so much of their lands as necessary to discharge the unpaid taxes and costs of sale would be sold at public auction.
