THOMPSON, J., delivered the opinion of the Court.

Clarence M. Thompson was convicted by Judge Paul A. Dorf in the Criminal Court of Baltimore of the illegal possession of phenobarbital and illegal possession of heroin. From these convictions Thompson has appealed alleging that he was denied "a quick and speedy trial" and therefore his motion to dismiss the indictment should have been granted. Thompson also contends that his convictions cannot stand as the phenobarbital...
