Dr. Sterling C. Corley was formally charged with first degree murder. He pled guilty to second degree murder and raised the issue of insanity. Pursuant to A.R.S. § 13-1621.01, this issue was tried to a jury. The jury was unable to reach a verdict, and a mistrial was declared.
