This case involves the construction and administration of the Sexually Dangerous Persons Act. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1969, ch. 38, pars. 105-1 to 105-12.) In April of 1962, the defendant, Laird Shirwo, was committed under that act to the custody of the Director of the Department of Public Safety (now Corrections).
