Robert Birdwell claims he did not know that the trunk he picked up at Sea-Tac Airport on May 9, 1970, contained 13,000 grams of marijuana. Nevertheless, after two trials1 he was found guilty of the charge of unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to sell. He appeals.
