Michael Bazinet and George Knox1 were jointly tried and convicted of conspiracy to rob a federally insured bank in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 371 and 2113(a).

The defendants were arrested on December 4, 1970, at approximately 9:50 a. m. as the result of a police "stake-out" at Knox's grandmother's house. The officers had been sent by their superior...
