RABINOWITZ, Justice.

This appeal arises out of an action for trespass and conversion brought by the Schafers against Schnabel. In their complaint the Schafers alleged that Schnabel had trespassed on their lands and converted raw materials therefrom in the course of Schnabel's relocation of a road which traversed their adjoining lands. The Schafers sought the recovery of compensatory damages for the conversion of timber, gravel and blue clay by Schnabel...
