On March 2, 1970, Appellant was convicted for possession of drugs denounced by the Alabama Drug Abuse Law as set forth in Section 5(c) of Act No. 252, General Acts of Alabama, 1967, and was sentenced to a term of four (4) years in the penitentiary. He gave notice of appeal and requested suspension of sentence pending appeal. Sentence was suspended and bond fixed at $8,000.00.
