Petitioner Ernest Jackson Cottle was convicted of robbery in the Duval County Criminal Court of Record and, on September 14, 1956, sentenced to serve a term of twelve years in the state penitentiary. On November 28, 1961, petitioner was released on parole. For the next six years he managed to conduct himself in a fashion that the Florida Parole Commission found unobjectionable.
