Appellant, a New York City Housing Authority patrolman, testified to the following facts. As he was standing in the checkout line of a grocery store five hours before his scheduled tour of duty, a man attempted to get into the line in front of him. When appellant told the individual to go to the back of the line, the man pushed him causing him to fall. Appellant then identified himself as a police officer and attempted to arrest the man.
