On March 14, 1969 plaintiff suffered injuries while riding as a passenger in the upper portion of a camper vehicle driven by defendant Wilson. Although the wheels of the camper vehicle did not leave the road pavement, the upper portion of the vehicle struck a utility pole which stood at the base seven inches from the face of the curb but which inclined slightly toward the center of the roadway.
