Petitioners insist that, being indigents, they are entitled to a free copy of the proceedings on preliminary hearing. Petitioners rely on Roberts v. LaVallee, Warden, 389 U.S. 40, 88 S.Ct. 194, 19 L.Ed.2d 41 (1967) where the Supreme Court of the United States held in a case coming to it from New York, that the State was compelled to furnish an indigent with a free copy of such transcript.
