An action was brought in rem against the vessel M/S NORDSEE PILOT, of German registry, now in the Port of New York by members of her crew for wages due. Before he would attach the vessel the United States Marshal required the plaintiff seamen to pay over $2,000 for the costs of a watchman aboard the vessel for twenty-four hours a day, plus insurance and other incidental "costs."
