On July 19, 1958 claimant injured his back in the course of his duties as a volunteer fireman. At the time of this injury, he was employed at the Central Islip State Hospital as a grade seven maintenance man, plumber-steamfitter. His assignment at that time involved arduous work on boilers in the power house.
