Elmer Banks was killed on April 5, 1968, when the automobile in which he was riding, for some unexplained reason, left the inside eastbound driving lane of the Mountain Parkway near Winchester, Kentucky, proceeded across the median, overturned and came to rest in the westbound driving lane.
