Saturday night, May 26, 1962, John Gutekunst, age 25, had a date with Carol McClintic. She owned a Ford Galaxie convertible in which they drove to the Eagle's Nest Tavern located on the south side of Clark Lake in Jackson County, arriving at approximately 10:30. They drank some beer.
