Plaintiffs brought suit August 3, 1967, in circuit court, seeking a declaratory judgment (GCR 1963, 521) and other appropriate equitable relief against defendant city, based upon defendant's refusal to grant plaintiffs a "special exception" permit to use certain premises owned by plaintiff Bryant-Nicks Company (with an option to buy held by plaintiff Mobil Oil Corporation) for a gasoline service station....
