This habeas corpus proceeding was instituted in the Court of Common Pleas in Kanawha County by the petitioner, Peggy Anderson, to regain custody of her infant son, David Shawn Anderson, from the respondents, Elmer and Vergie Woods, who had been given custody of the infant son after its birth. After the hearing of the matter in the Common Pleas Court, that Court decided against the petitioner and dismissed the petition. The petitioner then appealed to...
