Cartrade, Inc. brought suit for damages, alleging that the Ford Dealers Advertising Association of Southern California (FDAA) and the Ford Motor Company (Ford) had conspired to destroy Cartrade's business, in violation of sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 1, 2).
