The defendant James Cody was indicted for violating 18 U.S.C.A. §§ 922 (a) (6) and 924(a) by making a false and fictitious statement to a licensed firearms dealer in order to buy a firearm. On February 16, 1970, he was arraigned in United States district court and entered a plea of not guilty. On March 10, 1970, he withdrew his plea and entered a plea of guilty as charged.
