This appeal from a judgment entered by the trial court upon a jury verdict for the defendant pivots on whether the trial court erred in granting a sudden emergency instruction (Instruction G1) requested by the defendant.

The case arose as the result of an automobile collision which occurred on August 2, 1967, at approximately 3:00 p. m., in the 300 block of East Grace Street in Richmond. Grace Street at this point...
