In this civil action the plaintiff seeks to recover from the defendant the balance due under an alleged agreement wherein defendant agreed to pay a real estate broker's Commission for procuring a purchaser for its real estate. The defendant pleaded in bar that the absence of a sufficient writing evidencing the alleged agreement constituted a defense under the statute of frauds.
