ADAMS, Circuit Judge.

Joseph DiRienzo was convicted by a jury in the Superior Court of Essex County, New Jersey, under two indictments consolidated for trial, charging him with receiving stolen goods in violation of N.J.S.A 2A:139-1. He was sentenced to two consecutive prison terms of three to five years each. The New Jersey Supreme Court affirmed the convictions, but modified the sentences to a single term. State v. DiRienzo,
