This petition for habeas corpus1 was initiated before a single Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court sitting in the Superior Court. It seeks release from an alleged illegal confinement of the petitioner in the Cumberland County Jail. The single Justice enlarged petitioner from jail on his personal recognizance pending final decision of the case.
