George Vincent LaTona refused to testify before a federal grand jury investigating gambling activities in Kansas City, Missouri, after the government had granted him "transactional" immunity from prosecution pursuant to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. § 2514. The district court cited LaTona for civil contempt and committed him to the custody of the United States Marshal until he should purge himself of contempt by asnwering questions propounded to him...
