This appeal is presented to us on an agreed statement of facts as follows

Frank A. Boyle was, at the time of his death on January 26, 1954, a member of the Philadelphia Police Department and a member in good standing of the Philadelphia Police Widows' Pension Fund Association, a non-profit corporation.
