The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (Commission) was created in 1927 by Chapter 448 of the Laws of the General Assembly for that year. The law created a district, known then as the Maryland-Washington Metropolitan District, in the Maryland suburban area contiguous to Washington, D.C., and included in that district approximately all of what is now enclosed...
