The defendant was convicted by a jury of the crime of robbery armed, MCLA § 750.529 (Stat Ann 1971 Cum Supp § 28.797), and sentenced to serve a period of 10 to 25 years in prison.

The events which led up to the commission of this crime began at about 10 p.m. on April 9, 1968, when Gary Lapides, an undercover police officer in the City of Ann Arbor, called at the defendant's apartment...
