Petitioner, State of Washington, brought this action to condemn interests in certain lands belonging to respondent Livia C. Wachsmith for the purpose of constructing a segment of a limited-access highway near Yakima known as SR 12. The state appeals from the judgment and decree of appropriation awarding respondent $230,000 upon a jury verdict.
