The defendant, Darrell Lucas, was found guilty of attempted burglary by a jury in the circuit court of Peoria County, and was sentenced to the penitentiary for a term of not less than 10 nor more than 12 years. He filed a pro se petition under the Post-Conviction Hearing Act. Counsel was appointed on his behalf and an amended petition was filed. The State answered the petition...
